Professor Andrew Ooi website has finally fallen from No. 1 postition to no.2 yesterday.

After almost a year of trying, I finally took back the no.1 spot for Google Search for my own name - Andrew Ooi.

I still take 5/10 positions on the first page but the prof is still holding on to a strong no.2 and no.3 position. The next few months I want to take over those 2 positions also!! Its a matter of time ...

When I do a vanity Google search on my own name "Andrew Ooi", I expect my website to be right on top in the number one spot.

It was for several years until last year this Professor from Australia with the same name as mine knocked me of the number one position. I have been trying for several months now to regain my spot.

I even registered the domain www.AndrewOoi.com to battle the false Andrew Ooi. The best position I got was at position no. 3. However, now there is yet another Andrew Ooi from Hollywood who has taken 3rd spot. Now Ive dropped to no. 4.

I will work hard at it and learn all the SEO techniques including writing more useful articles to get myself indexed by Google. I cant stand not having the no.1 spot !!! :)

Now that I have time on my hand with my recent resignation, I will concentrate on beating Professor Andrew Ooi (lecturer from University of Melbourne) in the Google SERP (Search Engine Results Page). Of course there will be no link to the Professor Andrew Ooi here :)

I guess one of the strategy is to give out something of value from my websites. Im aiming to create several free web sevices for people to use and link it to my name. Ive already made Chess Publisher which is a free chess diagram maker for bloggers. Ive seen a serious rise in terms of Technorati ranking and Google ranking as people who use that tool link back to me.

I need to make more of such tools and give it out for free. Being a web programmer, thats something not difficult for me. I just have to think of some good ideas ....
